NBA Playoffs: Mavs close out Thunder in Game 6

Dallas storms back late as PJ Washington hits clutch free throws to send the Mavs to the West Finals

Led by Luka Doncic's 24 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and two blocks, the No. 4 seed Dallas Mavericks defeated the No. 5 seed Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 6 of their Western Conference semifinal series on Thursday night, 118-112.

The Mavericks trailed by 10 points with less than four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but they rallied to tie the game on a 3-pointer by Doncic with 1:15 left.

After the Thunder missed a shot on their ensuing possession, Doncic was fouled and sent to the free-throw line with 10.5 seconds remaining. He made both free throws to give the Mavericks a 114-112 lead.

The Thunder had one final chance to tie the game, but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's 3-point attempt bounced off the rim.

The Mavericks will now face the No. 1 seed Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Finals, which begin on Sunday.

Conclusion

The Mavericks' victory was a testament to their resilience and determination. They never gave up, even when they were trailing by double digits in the fourth quarter. Doncic was brilliant down the stretch, and his clutch free throws sealed the victory for Dallas.
