NFL Hall of Famer Larry Allen, who played 12 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, died Sunday while on vacation with his family in Mexico, the team announced Monday. He was 52.

Allen, who was born in Los Angeles on November 27, 1971, was a key cog in the Cowboys' last Super Bowl victory in 1996. He was selected to the NFL's All-Decade Teams for both the 1990s and 2000s.

"He was a great player and a great person," said Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. "He will be deeply missed." Allen was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013. He is survived by his wife, Monica, and four children.
