Jayson Tatum exploded for 49 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists to lead the Celtics to a 116-112 victory over the Nets on Monday night at the TD Garden.
Jaylen Brown added 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Celtics, who have won three straight games and improved to 18-4 on the season.
Kevin Durant led the Nets with 35 points, while Kyrie Irving added 29 points and eight rebounds.
The Celtics took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Nets 32-20 to take a 87-75 lead.
The Nets cut the deficit to five points in the fourth quarter, but Tatum hit a jumper to give the Celtics a 107-102 lead with 1:30 remaining.
The Nets had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but Durant's three-pointer was off the mark.
The Celtics will host the Knicks on Wednesday night.
