Early Life and Career
Colin Kelly Jost (pronounced "Joe-st") was born on June 29, 1982, on Staten Island, New York. He attended Harvard University, where he became involved in the improv and sketch comedy scene.
After graduating, Jost moved to Chicago to pursue comedy full-time. He performed at The Second City, a renowned improv theater, and met fellow comedian Pete Davidson.
Saturday Night Live
In 2005, Jost joined the writing staff of "Saturday Night Live" (SNL). He quickly rose through the ranks and became the head writer in 2017. Since 2014, he has co-anchored "Weekend Update" with Michael Che.
Stand-Up Comedy and Other Projects
In addition to his work on SNL, Jost has also released two stand-up comedy specials, "Colin Jost: All Disrespect" (2019) and "Colin Jost: No Offense" (2023).
He has also appeared in several films, including "Trainwreck" (2015), "How to Be Single" (2016), and "Tom & Jerry" (2021). Jost has also hosted the White House Correspondents' Association dinner in 2018.
Personal Life
Colin Jost married actress Scarlett Johansson in 2020. The couple welcomed their first child, Cosmo, in 2021. Jost is also a vocal advocate for mental health awareness and has spoken openly about his own struggles with depression.
